1. What brought you to In Motion?
I moved to Sarnia from Aurora during the pandemic, where I had lived my entire life. Upon arriving, I had to rebuild my entire roster of medical practitioners, which was no easy task. In 2022, I had my second knee surgery due to a soccer injury. My orthopedic surgeon from Toronto recommended a specific type of knee brace to aid in my recovery. After extensive research, I discovered In Motion online and saw their custom brace options. Initially, I went there for a brace, but I ended up finding a team of medical professionals I now regularly visit. I have chiropractic sessions every 2-3 weeks and a massage once a month. I've even booked my appointments for the entire year! My experience has been so great that my mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law, and partner have all switched to In Motion for their care.
2. What are your personal health goals?
Ongoing regular health care is essential for my overall well-being. I don't wait until I'm injured or in crisis to visit a medical professional. I strongly believe in building a network of practitioners I connect with as an extended part of my community. Chiropractic care and massage therapy help me tremendously with stress management and physical maintenance. My personal health goals are based around being my best self; mentally, physically and emotionally. Feeling in control and strong enough to do the things I want to do

My chiropractor and massage therapist are kind, compassionate professionals who take their patients and practice seriously. The clinic is impeccably clean from top to bottom. Additionally, a fun little bonus I enjoy is using the points I've earned from referring my family to get myself some self-care products in their reception area. I’ve been eyeing a heating pad for my next pick!

1. What brought you to In Motion?
I originally came to In Motion due to severe wrist pain while in high school; trying to write things down and the pain being so bad I could no longer take notes. As a kid, I spent a lot of time at the computer or the couch gaming. I had no idea what ergonomics was, let alone proper posture. As the years went on, I eventually developed a bad mixture of overly tight and underworked muscles, along with my body becoming more used to improper form. Eventually that lead to problems that brought me to In Motion. I also have had several minor injuries over the years such as rolled ankles which I have always went straight to In Motion for.
2. What are your personal health goals?
My health goals now are to constantly work towards/maintaining a fitness level that allows me to be participate in sports and activities without being constantly drained, or being restricted in how much I can do or move. Being able to play sports without having to take frequent breaks due to cardio or muscle pain, and being able to repeatedly come back each week feeling ready to go again!
3. How many days a week do you visit In Motion and how long each session?
At the start, I was going 2-3 times a week due to what my body's condition was in (which was not good for a 16 year old!). Now I go once a month for quick 10-15 minute tune-ups, as well as 45-min massages a few times a year.

I would say the fact that all the staff genuinely care about wanting to see your life improve. 6. Any comments/feedback for new clients to In Motion?
Don't be afraid to ask about other services offered at In Motion! I was brought to In Motion by a Google search. What a stroke of luck!
My personal health goals are to continue the journey that I’m currently on and see what my body can do. I’m doing a three run Disney challenge, and a full marathon next year. I’d like to complete a half Ironman next year as well.
I visit In Motion once a month for maintenance, and more frequently if I require rehabilitation therapy, or as directed.
I’ve been a client for close to ten years!
I’m committed to my relationship with In Motion quite simply because it’s given me back my life. With my practitioner’s support I’ve achieved my goal to complete a triathlon, the Grand Fondo, and the Disney 10 miler. I’m currently training for a half marathon, and I’ve run that distance. When I first started here, I came for maintenance to deal with the physical and mental stress of a demanding job as a Nurse. I’ve been guided to achieve my health dreams, and to lose 100 pounds doing it!
I’d say to new Clients: set big goals, dream big dreams because the team here can help you achieve them.

Client of the Month: Ravena Williams
1. What brought you to In Motion?
At first I was referred to by another health professional in the ER to go to In Motion.
I had injured my right back shoulder blade and needed physiotherapy. I was introduced to the most friendly physiotherapy worker at In Motion. She didn’t know me, and I didn’t know her but she made me trust her completely with my injury etc.
Once I got the groove of the physiotherapy care, I later down the road injured my lower right back and then got introduced to chiropractic therapy. Again, the most friendly and understanding professionals. They take the time to hear your concerns, your frustrations to not being able to “recover” and they take it to heart knowing you want to get better. They did that, and I knew I could trust them with their care in helping me recover.
2. What are your personal health goals?
My personal health goals is to keep attending In Motion even if I feel “strong” physically. Having the support system such as the chiropractic, physiotherapy and massage therapy team behind me, helps me move forward into coming “stronger” not only physically but mentally as well. Such a great team when they’re positive about helping and ensuring that you’re going to get from point A to point B. I’m a registered Early Childhood Educator and with that I need to be able to move around and run after my little monkey’s. With all my care sessions, it helps me 100%.
3. How many days a week do you visit In Motion and how long each session?
I’ve been going to In Motion at least twice a week to get in my physiotherapy and chiropractic care from my health care providers. With recovery going well, its now at least once a week for every 2-3 weeks. My physiotherapy sessions are at least 20-30 minutes & my chiropractic therapy sessions are anywhere from 20-30 minutes. I also access massage therapy & those sessions can vary from half hour to an hour.
4. How many years have you been a client of In Motion?
I’ve been a client to In Motion since 2018.
5. What would be the one aspect of In Motion that really draws you regularly?
I really enjoy the warm smiles and “Hello _______” as soon as you walk thru the door to my appointments. I really like how the team of professionals I work with give you space, ensuring that they wouldn’t “push” you into going above in beyond in recovery. They let you know that they value their clients and that’s a really cool vibe.
6. Any comments/feedback for new clients to In Motion?
I definitely would say you don’t need any “guards” up when coming to In Motion. They’re so welcoming and understanding it came easy to trust them with their care. If you have any concerns on anything, they go above and beyond to take care of you by making the important calls and or e-mails. You definitely feel at ease within the In Moton building, like a second home.

6. Any comments/feedback for new clients to In Motion?
In Motion has been a saviour for me and my mental health after trying many other treatment and modalities to help. The team used shockwave, chiropractic, and massage therapy to help me recover what had become a debilitating injury that prevented me from enjoying my day. After we devised a treatment plan I was back running in three weeks and within six months I was back to triathlon training at full effort. Since then they have helped me and my family regain the joy of running and being active together as a family. Being able to run, skate, bike, and even just walk has helped me and my family weather the last two years of COVID by providing us with a mental health outlet during COVID.
7. Any comments/feedback for new clients to In Motion?
The staff at In Motion makes their clients feel welcome and that they are their only client. I love my visits to In Motion, I feel like it’s the physical and mental pit stop my body and life needed to keep me healthy and physically active after all the years of abuse I have put it through. Thai allows me to stay active and a role model to my kids, that exercise is lifelong no matter what your physical goals are.

Client of the Month: Debra May
1. What brought you to In Motion?
I had been going to different health spots for insurance purposes due to injury to pinched nerves in my discs at the base of my neck. Actually I lived in Oil Springs and was seeing a great Chiropractor in Petrolia and was in the process of moving to Sarnia and she gave me In Motion’s name as a recommendation.I can say I’m happy she did.
2. What are your personal health goals?
Considering when I first came to In Motion approximately 4 years ago I was in a fair amount of pain, and couldn’t do half of the things I could normally do on a daily basis. I was a very active person before my injury and now I just look forward to be able to keep up with doing things like gardening, walking, and normal activity of daily life. Through one of my physiotherapist I learned I had been walking improperly also which was causing problems with my knee.
3. How many days a week do you visit In Motion and how long each session?
Thanks to my half hour weekly physio and bi-weekly massages it sure helps me to do these things in moderation. When I first started going to In Motion I didn’t go that often but now I find myself going regularly, finding it helpful, laser on my knee for helping me to walk, physio and massage for my neck and shoulders for pinched nerves and torn muscles on my roto cuff.
4. How many years have you been a client of In Motion?
I have been a patient for over 4 years now.
5. What would be the one aspect of In Motion that really draws you regularly?
The staff is friendly and make you feel comfortable and great chats during your sessions. You gain friends. I was surprised when I was asked to be client of the month but honoured as well and will continue to give my health care to In Motion.
6. Any comments/feedback for new clients to In Motion?
I now feel much better than I did 4 years ago and love that at my age I can continue to look forward to moving my arms, neck, back and legs when I wake in the mornings, if In Motion can do that for me I can recommend you give them a chance to help you.
7. Other comments/anything to add?
Thanks to staff and all that have had anything to do in helping me.

Shelley Dixon
Registered Massage Therapist
I am a new resident of Sarnia as of August 2023. I grew up in Ingersoll, then made London my home in the early 90's. The youngest of 6 children, my parents were always encouraging us to be active and live healthy lives. I attended Fanshawe College after high school for Fitness & Health Promotion and worked at the YMCA for many years teaching Aerobic Classes and Personal Training. In my mid 20's I ran two marathons and competed in several Triathlons. Nowadays, I enjoy Yoga, walking, cycling and lifting weights.
It wasn't until I was in my 30's that I decided to go back to school for Massage Therapy at D'Arcy Lane. During my 18 plus years as an RMT, I've had the opportunity to expand my knowledge by taking such courses as: Acupressure, Ultrasound Therapy, Deep Tissue Manipulation and Thai Massage.
I have a daughter and son, and a granddaughter. My partner has two daughters and a son. Family is very important to us. I never visited Sarnia until I met my partner who was born and raised here. Over the years, and our many trips to Sarnia for family functions and outings with friends, I came to love the area. Being so close to the water is truly a perk. Now, I find myself saying "I can't believe I actually live here".
As soon as I stepped through the doors of In Motion, I knew I found my new work home. Such a comfortable environment, and a group of talented individuals who truly love what they do was evident. As part of the In Motion Team I am excited to be working alongside other like-minded Healthcare Professionals. I am eager to learn some new skills and help my clients attain their optimal health goals. I also look forward to meeting you soon.
